Kimolos – Polyaigos Cruise

KYTHNOS RIBOAT / Kimolos – Polyaigos Cruise

Kimolos – Polyaigos Cruise

per person

Get ready to experience a real cruise with one of Kythnos Riboat’s most modern and safest offshore inflatable boats. Escape to the beautiful Kimolos, at a distance of less than 40 nautical miles from Merichas (1.30 hours), admiring the special beauties of the island with its wonderful beaches and the picturesque port of Psathi.

You can visit Chora with its scenic alleys, as well as the archeological museum. On this cruise, it is impossible not to visit Polyaigo. Polyaigos is the largest “uninhabited” island in the Aegean and its name came from its many four-legged inhabitants, the goats. This island has existed since ancient times and was the “apple of contention” for Milos and Kimolos, who claimed a share of its mineral wealth. From 338 BC until today the island belongs administratively to Kimolos.

Departure from Merichas

The cruising experience begins !!

11:30 Kimolos

We approach Kimolos enjoying its special natural wealth, to moor between Prasonisi and the beach of Prasson. A stop for a swim in the clear, crystal clear waters of the area is a must! We continue to explore the south side of the island, to reach the old port of Goupa. It is 1 km, both from the village (capital of the island) and from Psathi (port). One of the most famous sights of Kimolos is the "sirmata" (wires) in the small port of Goupa. These are caves carved into the soft rocks and sealed, with colored wooden doors, where the locals keep their boats in winter. A large rock on the beach of the settlement is also considered a sight. Take some time for photo clicks to continue exploring.

13:00 Port of Psathi, Kimolos

We approach to moor in the port. Psathi is a small settlement in the southeastern part of Kimolos and the main port of the island. There is where we get off and you can visit Chora by bus or on foot (1 km), with the beautiful whitewashed alleys, cafes and taverns surrounding a Cycladic Labyrinth. Otherwise you can enjoy your coffee as well as dine at the fish tavern "to kyma" for an incredible experience of tasting on the sand with the unique tranquility of the port.

15:45 Polyaigos

Continuing our sea tour, arriving in just a few minutes in Polyaigos, where we will visit the cave of Fanara. A cave with large holes in its roof, which is earning its attention and photo clicks. We continue our cruise at low speed to reach a little further down in Upper and Lower Mersini for a second dive. Our course is circular, since we will not leave the island if we do not visit the most characteristic point of Polyaigos. The reason for the rocky islet of the Monks. Kalogeroi are the famous rocks of the island, located in the middle of the sea and open their gates to the most secret places of the island.
6

17:00 Blue waters / Polyaigos

We arrive at the “private pool” of Polyaigos. A large pool with blue waters, which is 100% natural and in the sea! This point is often caught by the wind, but when it is calm you will enjoy a magical landscape. Continuing we meet the Blue Waters or Blue, as many call it which is a second "Pool" in Polyaigos. Blue waters, with an impressive sea bottom makes you grab the mask and start exploring. Next to you volcanic rocks and mysterious caves emphasize how special this island is. Get ready for water games provided by our boats, enjoying coming out of the sea, the hospitality and the delicacies that our Skipper will have prepared for you on the boat.
